<p>Islam is a religion that encourages trade, and Prophet Muhammad was personally engaged in commerce. The Prophet said: "The honest and trustworthy merchant will be with the prophets, the truthful, and the martyrs on the Day of Judgment." <br/> <br/>Lawful (halal) earnings form the cornerstone of Islamic business ethics. Earning money through forbidden means, taking interest, engaging in black market activities, and deceiving people are absolutely prohibited. <br/> <br/>Among the important principles of business ethics are honesty, trustworthiness, and accuracy in measurement. In Surah Al-Mutaffifin: "Woe to those who give less in measure and weight!" Interest is absolutely prohibited and Islam has proposed halal finance methods such as partnership. <br/> <br/>Every Muslim should adhere to Islamic moral principles in their professional life. The Prophet said: "Pay the worker their wages before their sweat dries."</p>
