Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As we begin a new year, let us renew our intentions and commit to becoming better servants of Allah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Actions are judged by intentions, and each person will be rewarded according to their intention." (Bukhari and Muslim)
A new year is an opportunity for reflection and self-renewal. Allah says: "Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves." (Ar-Ra'd, 13:11)
Making Meaningful Resolutions
Let us resolve to strengthen our five daily prayers, to recite the Quran regularly, to improve our character, to be more generous, and to repair broken relationships. Let us intend to seek knowledge, to be of service to our community, and to raise our families upon the values of Islam.
But intentions alone are not enough – they must be followed by action. The companions of the Prophet did not merely intend good; they acted upon their intentions with determination and perseverance. Let us follow their example and make this year one of spiritual growth and meaningful change. May Allah bless us all in the year ahead. Amin.
