Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today we reflect on modesty and humility – two virtues that adorn the believer. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Modesty (haya) is a branch of faith." (Bukhari and Muslim). And he said: "Modesty brings nothing but good." (Muslim)

Allah does not love those who are arrogant. He says: "And do not walk upon the earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth apart, and you will never reach the mountains in height." (Al-Isra, 17:37)

The Beauty of Humility

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the most humble of people despite being the best of creation. He sat on the ground, mended his own shoes, and served his family. He said: "No one humbles himself for the sake of Allah but Allah raises him." (Muslim)

True modesty encompasses our dress, our speech, our behavior, and our interactions with others. It means being respectful, avoiding boastfulness, and recognizing that all blessings come from Allah. Let us clothe ourselves in humility and modesty. May Allah adorn us with these beautiful qualities. Amin.
