Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today we contemplate the meaning of true knowledge. Knowledge in Islam is not mere accumulation of information; it is understanding truth and acting upon it. Allah says: "It is only those who have knowledge among His servants who truly fear Allah." (Fatir, 35:28)
The Prophet (peace be upon him) sought refuge from knowledge that does not benefit: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, a heart that does not humble itself, a soul that is never satisfied, and a supplication that is not answered." (Muslim)
Knowledge and Action
True scholars are those who practice what they preach. Their knowledge transforms their character, softens their hearts, and inspires their communities. The early scholars of Islam were known not just for their books but for their piety, generosity, and service.
Let us seek knowledge with sincerity, apply it in our lives, and share it with others. Let us respect our scholars and learn from their wisdom. Knowledge is the light that dispels the darkness of ignorance. May Allah guide us to beneficial knowledge and righteous action. Amin.
