Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today we discuss the importance of halal earnings. Allah commands: "O you who believe, eat from the good things which We have provided for you." (Al-Baqarah, 2:172). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "No one has ever eaten food better than eating from the work of his own hands." (Bukhari)
Halal sustenance is not just about what we eat – it encompasses every aspect of our income and spending. The Prophet (pbuh) warned: "A body nourished by haram will not enter Paradise." (Tirmidhi)
Earning with Integrity
Islam encourages hard work, honest trade, and fair dealings. Cheating, hoarding, bribery, interest-based transactions, and exploitation are all strictly forbidden. The Prophet (pbuh) said: "The honest and trustworthy merchant will be with the prophets, the truthful, and the martyrs on the Day of Judgment." (Tirmidhi)
Let us examine our sources of income and ensure they are pure. A little that is halal is better than abundance that is haram. May Allah bless us with halal sustenance and protect us from what is forbidden. Amin.
