Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today we reflect on the virtue of patience during hardship. Allah says: "And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient." (Al-Baqarah, 2:155)

Tests and trials are an inevitable part of life. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The greatest reward comes with the greatest trial." (Tirmidhi). When Allah loves a people, He tests them.

Finding Strength in Difficulty

Patience does not mean passive acceptance. It means maintaining faith, continuing to strive, and trusting Allah's wisdom during difficult times. Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) said when he lost his beloved son: "Beautiful patience! And Allah is the One sought for help." (Yusuf, 12:18)

When you face hardship, remember: this too shall pass. Every difficulty is temporary, but the reward for patience is eternal. Allah promises: "Indeed, with hardship comes ease." (Ash-Sharh, 94:6). May Allah grant us beautiful patience in all our trials. Amin.
