Our Youth and Spiritual Values

Eyüp Sultan Camii İmamı

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today we address one of the most important subjects for the future of our community: our youth and their spiritual values. Allah says: "O you who believe, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones." (At-Tahrim, 66:6)

Our young people are the pillars of tomorrow. If we invest in their moral and spiritual education today, we secure the future of our ummah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned seven categories of people who will be shaded under Allah's throne on the Day of Judgment, and among them is "a youth who grew up in the worship of Allah." (Bukhari and Muslim)

Guiding Our Youth

In an age of rapid technological change and social media influence, our youth face unprecedented challenges. It is our responsibility as parents, educators, and community members to provide them with a strong foundation of faith, knowledge, and moral values.

We must create environments where young people feel valued and heard. Our mosques should be welcoming spaces for youth activities, education, and mentorship. The Prophet (pbuh) gave youth important responsibilities – Usama ibn Zayd was appointed army commander at just seventeen years old.

Let us listen to our youth, guide them with wisdom and love, and empower them to become leaders of faith and virtue. May Allah protect our children and guide them to the straight path. Amin.
