Eid prayer is a wajib (obligatory) prayer performed on the first day of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha (Hanafi). It is performed in congregation, and the khutbah is delivered after the prayer.
How to Perform Eid Prayer (2 Rak'ahs):
1. Make the intention. Take the opening takbir. Recite Subhanaka.
1st RAK'AH (Three Additional Takbirs):
1. "Allahu Akbar" - Raise the hands, then drop them to the sides. (1st additional takbir)
2. "Allahu Akbar" - Raise the hands, then drop them to the sides. (2nd additional takbir)
3. "Allahu Akbar" - Raise the hands, then fold them. (3rd additional takbir)
4. Recite al-Fatiha and a surah. Perform ruku' and sujud, then stand up.
2nd RAK'AH (Three Additional Takbirs):
1. Recite al-Fatiha and a surah.
2. Three additional takbirs are taken (raising hands and dropping them to the sides for each).
3. Go into ruku' with the ruku' takbir. Perform sujud.
4. Perform the final sitting and give salam.
KHUTBAH: After the prayer, the imam delivers the khutbah.
Takbirs of Tashriq (Eid al-Adha):
From the morning of the Day of Arafah until the Asr of the 4th day of Eid, for 23 prayer times, after every fard prayer:
"Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar. La ilaha illallahu wallahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar wa lillahil-hamd."
