Full Ablution (Ghusl)

Ghusl (full ablution) means washing the entire body with clean water. It is obligatory (fard) after janabah (major ritual impurity), menstruation (hayd), and postpartum bleeding (nifas). Obligatory Acts (Fard) of Ghusl: 1. Rinsing the mouth (madmadah) 2. Sniffing water into the nose (istinshaq) 3. Washing the entire body (ensuring no dry spot remains) Steps for Performing Ghusl: 1. Make the intention. 2. Say Bismillah. 3. Wash the hands up to the wrists three times. 4. If there is any impurity (najasah) on the body, clean it first. 5. Perform a complete wudu as for prayer. 6. Rinse the mouth thoroughly three times. 7. Sniff water into the nose three times. 8. Pour water over the entire body three times: first over the head, then the right shoulder, then the left shoulder. 9. Ensure no part of the body remains dry. Situations Requiring Ghusl: - Janabah (sexual intercourse or nocturnal emission) - After menstruation - After postpartum bleeding (nifas) - Accepting Islam Important Notes: - Substances that prevent water from reaching the skin, such as nail polish, dough, or paint, must be removed. - Braided hair does not need to be unbraided, but water must reach the roots.
