Noon Prayer (Dhuhr)

The Dhuhr (Noon) prayer consists of a total of 10 rak'ahs: 4 rak'ahs initial sunnah + 4 rak'ahs fard + 2 rak'ahs final sunnah. The time for Dhuhr prayer begins when the sun passes its zenith and continues until the time of Asr prayer. DHUHR PRAYER INITIAL SUNNAH (4 Rak'ahs): 1. Make the intention. Take the opening takbir. 2. Recite al-Fatiha and a surah in each rak'ah. 3. Sit after the second rak'ah, recite At-Tahiyyatu, then stand up. 4. In the fourth rak'ah, perform the final sitting and give salam. DHUHR PRAYER FARD (4 Rak'ahs): 1. The iqamah is called (if praying in congregation). 2. In the first two rak'ahs, recite al-Fatiha and a surah; in the last two rak'ahs, recite only al-Fatiha. 3. Sit after the second rak'ah and recite At-Tahiyyatu. 4. In the fourth rak'ah, perform the final sitting and give salam. DHUHR PRAYER FINAL SUNNAH (2 Rak'ahs): Performed like the sunnah of Fajr prayer, as 2 rak'ahs.
