The Struggle for Monotheism

Prophet Ilyas (peace be upon him) was one of the prophets sent to the Children of Israel and invited his people, who worshipped an idol called Ba'l, to monotheism. The Holy Quran confirms his prophethood, stating, "And indeed, Ilyas was among the messengers." Ilyas called out to his people, "Will you not fear Allah? Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators — Allah, your Lord?" However, his people rejected Ilyas's invitation and denied him. The Holy Quran states that those who denied them have been prepared for punishment. Ilyas is greeted in the Quran with the words, "Peace be upon the family of Ilyas." His story teaches the importance of proclaiming the truth against false beliefs and the difficulty of the struggle for monotheism.
