Ruhullah - The Spirit of Allah

Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) was the son of Maryam, a miraculous prophet born without a father. He is referred to in the Holy Quran as "Ruhullah" (the Spirit of Allah) and "Kalimatullah" (the Word of Allah). He is one of the Ulul-Azm prophets. Isa spoke in the cradle and said, "I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet." By Allah's permission, he fashioned a bird from clay and breathed into it, healed the blind and the lepers, and raised the dead. Isa invited the Children of Israel to the oneness of Allah. The Children of Israel plotted to kill him, but Allah raised Isa to Himself. The Quran states, "They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it was made to appear so to them." Isa is a prophet and servant of Allah, and it is reported through hadith that he will descend to earth again near the Day of Judgment. His life is an example of monotheism, patience, and compassion.
