Kalimullah - The Prophet Who Spoke to Allah

Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) is the most frequently mentioned prophet by name in the Holy Quran and is known by the title "Kalimullah," meaning the one who spoke with Allah. As one of the Ulul-Azm prophets, Musa was born at a time when Pharaoh was killing the male children of the Children of Israel. His mother, inspired by Allah, placed him in a chest and set it upon the Nile River, and it was decreed that he would grow up in Pharaoh's palace. In Midian, he married one of the daughters of Shu'ayb, and on his return journey he spoke with Allah on Mount Tur and was given prophethood. Musa, together with his brother Harun, went to Pharaoh and demanded the release of the Children of Israel. Eventually Musa led the Children of Israel out of Egypt, and by Allah's permission he parted the sea with his staff. Pharaoh and his army drowned in the sea. The story of Musa is one of the most comprehensive examples of the struggle against oppression, monotheism, patience, and the absolute power of Allah.
