يحيى

Symbol of Piety and Asceticism

Prophet Yahya (peace be upon him) was the son of Zakariya and was a prophet named by Allah with a name that had never been given to anyone before. The Quran states that while still a child, he was given prophethood and wisdom with the command, "O Yahya! Hold firmly to the Scripture." Even as a child, Yahya showed extraordinary maturity and knowledge. He was described as deeply respectful to his parents, compassionate, and a person of piety. Yahya was a prophet who lived an ascetic life, placing no value on worldly pleasures. He raised his voice courageously against injustice and oppression. Yahya is one of three prophets in the Quran who are greeted with peace on the day they were born, the day they will die, and the day they will be raised. His story teaches devoting youth to worship and making sacrifices on the path of truth.
