Patience and Loyalty

Prophet Dhul-Kifl (peace be upon him) is a prophet whose name appears twice in the Holy Quran and who is praised as being among the patient. His name means "the one who possesses a portion" or "the one who guarantees." Although no detailed story is narrated about him in the Holy Quran, it is emphasized that he was among the patient, the doers of good, and the righteous. In Surah Al-Anbiya, he is mentioned alongside Ismail and Idris. According to narrations, Dhul-Kifl took on the responsibility of his people in place of an aging prophet. He fulfilled the conditions of fasting during the day, worshipping at night, and judging justly among the people without fail. The most important lesson to be drawn from the story of Dhul-Kifl is the necessity of fulfilling promises made and carrying out responsibilities completely.
